M40 Closures – Thursday 19th June 2025 and Monday 23rd June 2025

National Highways have sent notification of some upcoming essential maintenance work along the M40. As part of this work, they will be carrying out targeted resurfacing work to provide a smoother, safer carriageway for road users.

Work will be done overnight whilst traffic volumes are lower, from 9pm to 6am on Thursday 19 June 2025, and Monday 23 June 2025.  To complete the work safely, the following closures will be in place:

  • Thursday 19 June 2025 – Total closure of M40 northbound junction 15 exit slip.
  • Monday 23 June 2025 – Total closure of M40 northbound to M42 junction 3a link

During closures, fully signed diversions will be in place as below:

M40 northbound junction 15 closure and diversion:

 

Diversion: Continue on M40 Junction 15 > M40/M42 Junction 3 > back down to M42 Junction 15.

M40 northbound to M42 northbound Junction 3A link closure and diversion:

 

Diversion: Continue up to M42 junction 3 and back to rejoin at M42 junction 3a.

 

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout.
